Outside of family, who was your primary inspiration that led you to seek elected office?
My primary inspiration would have been those who disregard the Constitution and all that it stands for. I want to make a difference to get our country back on the path that our Founders would approve of. The opportunity presented itself. I ran. I lost. I gained a lot of experience. That opportunity is not there anymore, so I will not run for State Rep in the next election. If another opportunity presents itself for another office, then I will make a decision based on what is best for my family.

What service, department or agency in either your own local or state government are you most proud of?
I have little interest in local politics, but if the right opportunity presented itself, and I thought that I could do a better job, then I might jump in. Otherwise, most of my interest is in state and national government.

What one major global issue or conflict do you hope to see resolved in your lifetime?
I am not a fan of the globalist concept. I think we should realize and appreciate other cultures for what they are, but realize that different cultures cannot be forced together into a global community that should be expected to stay together without problems. Countries should continue to look out for their own interests and not try to fix the problems of the whole world.

What was your first political protest/demonstration/rally? How old were you?
I have never been involved in one in the traditional sense. I see little need in them. Nothing is accomplished in this manner. I think that discussions work much better.

Who was the first president you voted for?
I got to vote for George W. Bush in the 2004 Republican Primary. He has disappointed me with his lack of true conservatism.

What current national or state political figure inspires you now?
I have been an avid Alan Keyes fan, but it seems that he is not going to be a serious candidate for any elective office. One political figure that I am looking at now as a future leader of the Republican Party is Bobby Jindal. I believe that he will be one that can spread true conservatism in the GOP.

| To which professional organizations do you belong or were once a member of?
|
I am a teacher, but not a member of the teacher's union.

What is one wish you have for the youth of your party?
That they take time to understand the history of what it means to be a republic.

What was your first political campaign activity? (other than your own campaign).
I have never worked on a campaign except my own. I do blog at www.thearrowooddispatch.com, so I guess that would be considered political campaign activity.

What is one thing that most people don't know about you?
I am not a big talker. I just don't like to talk much. Most people that know me would be surprised to know that I take tough stances on political issues and that I blog.

Is this your first elected position?
This was my first campaign. I was not elected.

Have you ever been a member of another political party besides your current party?
I am a Republican, but I also support the Constitution Party and I have had membership with them. Since the Republican Party has the muscle to win elections, I choose to support them when I can. Unfortunately, I was unable to do so in the 2008 election.

What advice would you give to a person seeking office for the first time?
| Make sure that it is something you want to do. Feel that you have a purpose. Don't do it to just beat someone. Be ready to put your life on hold. Make sure you have tough skin.
I wanted it. I felt that I had a purpose. I did not run just to beat someone. I knew of no one else seeking the office when I decided to run. The negative against me was that I was unable financially to put my life on hold. Some terrible things were said about me, but it only made me work harder. |

What national issue or conflict would like to be a part of solving in your lifetime?
I would love to be one that is able to stop legal abortions.
