Without naming names, what was the worst political experience you've had?
Drinking at the Bell in Hand Tavern on Election Night 2004...waiting for Bush to get beaten...which didn't happen. As me and my friends filed out of the bar, all hope lost and shuffling our feet in utter dismay, it started to rain. Adding insult to injury. We all went home, drunk and dreary, hoping we'd sleep for the next four years and wake up to a better tomorrow.

What do you do when you're not trying to change the world?
Bike. I love getting out on the streets, weaving through Boston traffic or getting out of the city and riding to the beach or to the countryside. Also like live music, drinking with friends at my local watering hole. Going to Redsox games at Fenway and at ballparks around the country. I love to travel and try to get out of the country at least once a year. When I'm not trying to save the world, I'm trying to live it and see as much of it as I can.

What really makes you happy?
Friends. Dogs. Music. Travel. Spending the day at Fenway. French press coffee in the morning. Weekends.

What is your favorite ice cream?
Mint Chocolate Chip (the green kind)

In your dream world, which candidate/elected official would you most like to work for and why?
Ted Kennedy. I just love him. He's a great guy that is earnestly trying to do the right thing. And he'd probably be fun to drink with after a hard day of politicking.

Have you ever been a member of another political party besides your current party?
Well, I grew up in a small Mormon town in Idaho...and thought that I was born a Republican...since I was surrounded by them. But after going to college, moving to Boston, traveling the world, coming out as a gay guy, there wasn't much room for any Mormon/Republican ideology. And I'm proud to say that I've never voted for a Republican!

What was the best political experience you've had?
Voting. Every time I vote it's the best political experience ever. I look forward to election day more than I do my own birthday.
